    Hi Just4kix
You are doing an awesome job. Very nice documentation. I was able to get through the first half. unfortunately I still need help since i have a zyxel P320W wireless router. I configured router as per your instruction although my UT300R2U router's interface looked different.

Anyway, my desktop now connects fine through the router. But my laptop still has problem connecting to the wireless lan. The windows icon tells me that it is connected, but the ip doesn't look right and I am not able to connect to the internet? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

first configure your UT300RTU to connect to internet in PPPOE..
then connect the modem to one of the LAN ports.. it never
worked with the WAN port of the router.. then disable DHCP and IP
of the router to 192.168.1.x. as just4kix said the third octet of the IP
    needs to be same..

Let me clear a few things:

    a) There is no need to disable DHCP in the two routers. I have DHCP=ON on both devices and it works perfectly. The choice is left to you.
    b) If you leave DHCP=ON on both, the WAN/Internet port of 2nd router must be used.

    hi superprash2003

what is the ip address of the modem? what is the ip addres of the wifi router? Check if DHCP is enabled in the router or modem? ensure that its enabled either in the modem or the router.Or you could just go to LAN tcp/ip properties and enter static ip address there..

That IP address means that you are not connected to the router's network.

For .rar files you need WinRAR application. There is also a zip file attached. Use that one.

Default problem in connecting to internet

Using your guide, I am now able to setup wireless connection using Linksys WRT54G router. But problem is, frequently my PC shows that I am connected to wireless network, but the internet connection is down. When I go to router setup (Status) option, it shows that it is not connected to Internet. So I click on 'Connect' button, it tries to connect and then gives error "could not get IP address from PPoE server".

I am sure that my id and pswd are correct because some times i am able to connect. But this error is too frequent. Is it problem with my setup or is it problem with BSNL network?

if it worked atleast once then it could be a problem with the bsnl network.. reboot your router and try..

    Hi Just4kix,

    Thanks for your detailed documentation.

I have recently got the BSNL DataOne broadband connection. They gave me UT300R2U Type 1 modem. The internet connection was setup and working fine.

I have a Netgear WGR614 v5 Wireless router which I was using in the past with Airtel broadband. I am trying to setup the WiFi at home. I have followed your guide and setup the network. It worked fine for the first time. Again when I switched off and connected Internet was not working. I have tried doing things from scratch resetting the router. Now my router was guiding me thru wizard and asking me to enter fixed IP address, Subnet mask, Default gateway, Primary and Secondary DNS ip addresses.

BSNL modem was showing 192.168.1.1 as IP and DNS server addresses. I don't know what is Default Gateway for BSNL. I have tried 192.168.1.1 for Default Gateway but modem is not accepting. It says IP address and Default Gateway cannot be same.

Another problem I am facing is that when I reset Router is not responding thru http://192.168.1.1.

Any suggestions and help in this regard is much appreciated.

    Hi,

Can I use the same document for configuring dlink DI524 ?
Also I am not able to download the updated doc. Could you please send me the same?
Also once I configure my modem to bridge mode, how do I bring it back to the normal mode?

    Please let me know
    Thanks

yea.. the steps are similar.. to bring it back to ppoe mode you need to edit vpi/vci 0/35 to ppoe mode from bridged mode

    Hi,

I am also able to do this. But I was refering the other thread 'updates mutiple connection with single BB'.

I dont get the same screens hot when I login to 192.1681.1 . There is no run wizard setup. The main tabs which I get on the left side of page is DeviceInfo, Advanced Setup, Diagnostics and Management. There is no tab on top of page also. So how do I proceed. I am using the same UT300R2U BSNL modem

I am using Dlink DI524 wireless router. To login to router page, 192.168.1.1 doesnt work for me, instead 192.168.0.1 works.

    Please help me.
    Asif
