    Jiten,

Certain parameters need to be configured in the backend. And after thse, they need to be activated for your line. Then only the other details like username and password can be provided by BSNl and then you need to configure the same. After that, Internet will tsrat working

Default Need more help on ZXDSL 831 MODEM

    Hi

    Thanks for ur reply.

I try to setup modem myself but not getting success. As per bsnl i set IP address - 192.168.1.2, Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0, Gateway Address = 192.168.1.1 and Preferred DNS server = 192.168.1.1 in Local Area Network and try to connet but internet light is not working.

I also try to reset modem by browsing 192.168.1.1 and configure by applying Username and Password and restart modem, but nothing happen.

What is the ISP provider by bsnl for broadband - dataone or bsnl, which i want to apply in configuring mode.

I want ur help if u hv this type of modem and have bsnl broadband.

How can i contact to u?

    Waiting for ur reply

Your bsnl broadband connection will not work untill it is activated by bsnl.
Your user id and password is activated at Bangalore and your adsl link is activated at your local bsnl exchange so if your bsnl support guys say that it will take two more days then there is nothing much you can do about it unfortunately. So I suggest yo wait for two days.

    Your questions :

Service provider is dataone but that doesnt make any diference you can name it whatever you want.

You dont have to specify ip and dns.. Just set it to automatic.. both ip address and DNS.

    Hi

    Admin thanks for reply

I got modem since last 10 days. Before 1 week i called bsnl and also wait another 2 days. Today i went to bsnl office and they called me that connection is active, and told me to contact on NIB's numbers but when i m calling that number only phone is ringing, i don't get any response.

If u have ZXDSL 831 AII modem then please check it browser with http://192.168.1.1 and apply login in and password admin/admin and check all options if possible take screen shot and send me.

    Waiting for ur reply

    thanks in advance

The Link light should light up. In the absence of the ADSL link, it implies that u are not getting the ADSL signal from the exchange. No signal = no internet.

Default ZTE ZXDSL 831 ADSL Modem

ZTE ZXDSL 831 ADSL Modem The ZTE ZXDSL 831 is a modem/router supplied by BSNL broadband when you subscribe to bsnl broadband that come with modem.
It works as a modem by default but you can configure it to become a router as well and by looking at your post looks like you are trying to use it both as a modem and router .

In router mode, you don’t need to dial to login to bsnl broadband anymore. The router will dial it for you automatically.

    Configure to Router mode
    • Login to http://192.168.1.1 with the username and password (Case sensitive).

username : what ever the default is
password: whats ever your router default is (must be in the user manual which came with it.

if that does work try this :
      username : ZXDSL
      password: ZXDSL

      Please note:
If you cannot login using the user name and password options provided above, you might need to reset the modem by long-pressing the ‘reset’ button to the default factory setting. Its a small button which you can press using a pen or something pointy

    • When logged in, click on the WAN tab and follow the steps below...

    • Under the WAN tab, select PPP and then select ADD to add in a new PPP configuration as follow:

      PPP Interface = ppp-0
      ATM VC = aal5-2 or equivalent ( VPI=0, VCI=35 setting)
      Interface Sec Type = Public
      Status = Start
      Protocol = PPPoE
      Use DHCP/DNS = Enable
      Security Protocol = PAP
Login Name = your user name
      Password = your password
    • Under the Services tab, select NAT, and set it to Enable.
    • Under the Services tab, select IP Filter, make sure the Public and Private is set to Accept, and this would allow the modem to access the world wide web .

After that, click on “Admin” and then “Commit”
    • Set PCs TCP/IP in your LAN to point to the modem as the gateway.

      ip: 192.168.1.2
      subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
      gateway: 192.168.1.1
      dsn server: 192.168.1.1
    • Now reboot your system and modem.
    • Once it’s done you should check your Internet connectivity by loading http://www.indiabroadband.net
I am hoping that you are online now Please do report back to tell us if this worked.

    Hi there....
I also got the same modem from BSNL and they also failed to configure it so I tried it by myself heere is the solution but my internet light doesnot blink and also i get less speed around 180-200 KBPS

    type in the url http://192.168.1.1/
then in username and password type admin admin
then click the configuration tab in that click internet tab
take the pvc name bridge_0_35 and edit it
    VPI 0
    VCI 35
service category UBE without PCR NEXT
    protocol : Bridging

    Encapsulation type : LLC/SNAP
NEXT NEXT APPLY then its done

restart the modem and create a fresh copy for connection to internet
verify that link is present and connect.

    it worked for me

My Take on this BSNL support is shame on India, Why the hell they are in this business, when they cannot support.

No configuration help, The Support center is filled with Morons, useless fart's

Pls change to Airtel, their support is very good. and they know what they do, BSNL is just a big Fart when it stops working.

You could also pray to get the BSNL working
