    Default VDSL Setup for BSNL

    hi,

Im from goa and BSNL is the only ISP here, although it is crap there is no other option. My previous plan was BBG COMBO ULD 6300. I recently found out that the VDSL plans were introduced, i got my plan changed to BBG Super Speed Combo 3445 VDSL. I managed to find a VDSL modem on ebay it is the ZYXEL VMG-1312.

I need help setting it up, i cannot find any tutorials for BSNL. I tried calling their helpline and they had no idea what i was talking about and couldnt help me at all. I dont know what im doing wrong, the DSL light on the modem shows up but not the Internet light. I called my local BSNL exchange and they had no clue what VDSL is they thought i was talking about ADSL and insisted it was ADSL

can anyone help me set it up

    thanks

I didint know BSNL still provided vdsl (or ever provided) connections. For VDSL or VHDSL you have to be within 300metres of the exchange and that is not air distance but the length of the cable. You most probably have an adsl connection and your modem isint gonna work on adsl is what I think. Please show me where the vdsl plan is listed. I only know of an adsl plan that is Rs6300 per month for 4mbps. For 4mbps you dont even need vdsl as adsl supports a lot higher speed then that.

It appears strange that Administrator of this page is not aware of the VDSL data plan of BSNL. At least the facts could have been verified from BSNL site. Anyway, here is the link: http://bsnl.in/opencms/bsnl/BSNL/ser...igh_speed.html.
I have also applied for change of my BB plan from BB-Highspeed-Combo-2949 to BB-Superhighspeed-combo 2845. What I have gathered from the above, I will need a VDSL modem for the purpose. So far, neither my plan has been changed by Calcutta Telephones nor anybody from BSNL has advised me the requirement. Is it too much for us to expect BSNL officials to update their information and provide right support to the consumers?

I think the admin should close down this forum. Or at least quit from the seat of Admin. You are running a site on INDIA Broadband, and are expressing surprise on the news of VDSL by BSNL !!! We are using it since more than 1 year (16 months to be precise), and you are not aware of it !!!

Even if you are from a very backward city or village, you should at least remain connected to internet and keep abreast with the technological developments. Too pathetic...

I am happy that you found this forum and would help us keep this place updated like you just did. Thanks for letting us know that BSNL offers VDSL. I hope to see you around more often and spread your knowledge.

In your first post on this forum, you call the Admin "pathetic"? Did you just create a new/fake profile to start a proxy war? That, dear new idiotic member, is PATHETIC.
Give Respect, get Respect. Give cr.ap, and you will receive cr.ap in return!

@Admin, we could do with one less member, if you know what I am saying...
