Default BSNL Broadband Diconnecting Regularly..

Hello Friends,

I am Santosh from Karnataka, Ive recently(One Month) taken a Broadband connection from BSNL, from past 15 days my Broadband disconnects and asks for reconnection.
I read about the DNS in this forum and changed the DNS to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.222.220 from original ''Obtain DNS automatically''.

This worked for say a day or two again Iam facing the same prob.

friends You know BSNL's back up..

So Please help me solve this problem.

ThanX in Advance

Regards
Santosh

Is there a disturbance in your telephone line when you pick up the reciever? and does your net disconnect when you recieve a phone call on the land line?

If you have a spare filter you can try switching it and see if this rectifies the problem.

So what is the problem that u r facing? Slow browsing or disconnectivity (as mentioned in the title) Because changing the DNS will only improve your browsing speed, it wont help u maintain a stable connection.

cool_techie_tvm is correct. Changing of DNS has nothing to do with dropped connections. I would suggest the following:

a) Check whether you are using a splitter. If not, use a splitter.
b) Check the cables and connectors.
c) As pitrate suggested, check disturbance on telephone lines.
d) If you are using wireless connection, check the wireless channel. Choose channel 6 so that interference from cordless phones, microwave ovens, etc. is eliminated.

HTH.

It could be due to any joints in the cable inside your house and if there isint any joints just call bsnl and tell them to sort the problem out for you

Talking

even i had the same problem 2 weeks ago.... had to reset network adapter everytime it got disconnected.
Seems like some areas of bangalore are having problems. read bout that in the papers..
even my phone line was faulty... but it still is!!!!
my connection stabilised after a week of dissappointing downtime
use this number (1800-424-1600) to get in touch with them and see what they have to say...
good luck

Where in K'Taka you live?

Actually these happens in BSNL in some areas where there is lot of cable disruptions. And sometimes due to problems in the NIB server. So please wait for some more time and give them some time.
