i have recieved type-11 Siemens modem from bsnl today model no SL2-141. they have not given the cd pls explain how to install the modem.

Yes. Once you connect via Ethernet, you can also download its drivers. But you should insist from BSNL to provide you with all the drivers, CD, etc. Did the modem/router not come in a packaged box? If yes, the box must be containing a list of included items.

i have not received the user id and password yet, but they say they will provide it within 7 days, they have not given any cd for installing. actually i had one user id so i wanted that i can use that user id in via that modem can i do so.

There is nothing wrong in trying but I don't think it would work any more as bsnl uses port binding which restricts you from using a user id other then the one allocated to your telephone line.

The port binding service is only available in the newer server which is bein used to facilitate IPTV. In this server, the ports are automatically bound.

But in the older server, only Business and High end plans are bound and the Home 500 and Home 250 PLans are very less bound.

But you can change the password as soon as you get the U/N and PW to be on the safer side
