    Question Different rates

For me it cost Rs. 1750/- initially. I couldn't understand these BSNL guys.

Is there any standard rate of their services.

    Different exchanges charge different rate.

    Note: (Service Tax : 12.36% in U.P.)

Also when i applied for home 500 plan of DataOne they charged Rs. 2550 initially. The modem is on rent. Is it same there

can anyone confirm this service availabilty in UP(West) circle?if yes then EVDO speeds of 2.4mbps are available or not as most people who are claiming such speeds are from south india.also mention the city where you are getting this service.

    Default Not Sure

i am from UP East. So i cann't confirm the availability of this service is UP West. I am from Sonbhadra District (Near to Varanasi).

I also wish to share one thing that this EVDO service was launched before the Broadband Service. Also it was first of its kind in the country.

May be i am lucky to use this service before the others.

rock_daring can you post a screenshot of average speed achieved during downloading some big file(say a 700mb movie torrent or some linux distro using uTorrent or some big setup like ditectX 9c sdk from microsoft site using a download manager like flashget).please download full file to get an accurate idea.

    Default stick to EVDO

    Details:
    EVDO Service
    Net Speed 2.4 MBPS
    Download 100-250 Kilo Bytes/sec
    Upload 10-20 Kilo Bytes/sec
    Plan Unlimted

    Monthly rent: 700 + taxes (12.32%)

If this is what u r gettin thro EVDO service you better stick to it. the broadband unlimited plan offers only 256 kbps, and the download speed is always below 50 KBps, at a cost of Rs. 900/ month.

this is what i want to be sure about.none of the people here have posted any screenshot of such average speeds while they downloaded a large file(>100mb from http or 700mb torrent).all they are posting is results from sites such as speednet.i want to be sure about getting good average speeds rather than getting 200KBps for a few minutes & 40KBps for the rest.

i have seen the bsnl official page but can't find it now.however rest assured EVDO is available in very few places.also this service's speed varies greatly.you will get speeds of 144kbps for cdma network until proper equipments are installed at your local exchange so notice carefully before taking it as you may get an EVDO card but not necessarily high speeds as CDMA(1x) 144kbps speed is available everywhere & for both speeds(2mbps or 144kbps) you will get the same data card.
