Signal may vary but i don't think the QOS varies.
I am using it for the past three months and its great for me.
During 3 months it was unavailable for max a week (due to OF Line) else
    it is excellent.

As fr as speed is concerned its far better the BB UL 900 Plan.
In 900 Plan u will get 256 kbps while in this u will get 2.4 mbps rates speed.
(Real speed depends upon the signal strength but from my experience i am getting speeds of 100-225 kBps. I am getting max signal strength.)

Give it a try. What u r expecting for such a small price tag?

That is not unusual. Many a times I ask the BSNL people for any info, they have no idea about it.

Another question I have about EVDO is, can I use it on my desktop and laptop? Ordoes it work only on laptop?

very few places currently support 2mbps as this service is in a testing phase & for now available only in small/remote areas mostly with 2mbps.if they start offering it in big cities & towns now everyone will quit bsnl broadband & start using EVDO.

Low speed can also be due to the towers which doesn't have evdo connectivity, and support only 144kbps.

    Hi all,
At present EVDO service is given only on circle basis, but soon it will be provided on all india basis.
There are certain settings which are currently circle based.
EVDO (Evolution Data Optimized) is a data optimized CDMA network and hence uses a username and password as well as an Electronic Serial Number
So there is nothing like short range and long range, it works where signal is available
Currently only a few BTS (Base Transceiver Station) supports EVDO and upgradation process is in progress all over India.

How is the adsl working? Is it wired or wireless?

adsl is wired.you get a modem which is connected to your telephone line.this modem is then connected to your computer/laptop using cable.you can also get a wireless modem & then you don't have to connect it to your computer using cable.

So all I have to do is get this wireless modem and data one connection and I have wireless connection in that modems range(what is it like 10-50-100 meters?) in my home. Am I correct about this one?

Are the router you mentioned and the wireless modem from bsnl the same things?

well it depends.. there are two types of routers.. normal wifi routers and adsl wifi routers.. adsl wifi routers are similar to modems..they are able to dial the dsl connection(ppoe).. normal wifi routers cannot dial the connection, they are used to extend your network, provide wifi etc etc
