    Default Bsnl account usage

i am currently using a home 500 connection
But i am not able to login to the BSNL portal and check my usage (it returns a blank page when i enter the username and password)
last month i have got a Rs 2000+ phone bill which was a result of excessive usage

My browser can display the below page but returns a blank page

    http://p3hosting.bsnl.in:9080/BroadB...rtal/index.jsp

something similar happened to me too.i was given home250 even though i applied for home500.the portal id i was being given activated on 2 jan while i got my connection activated on 27th dec.in those 3 days i downloaded 3 gb thinking it as home 500 & on 2 jan i found out that my bill is Rs.2883.i immediately contacted the local exchange & since then waiting for the bill to arrive because only after that they will correct it.i too got the blank page for 5 days but yours should be activated by now.did your phone bill mentioned which plan you were using?if not then confirm it.also there are free tools available for monitoring data transfer usage.you can use them.i personally don't use such tools as i mainly use my connection to download between 2-8 am.for daytime surfing i simply point my arrow on the bsnl connection icon in system tray(it is there along with lan icon)& see how many bytes i sent & received for each session.(1024bytes=1kilo byte,1024kilo bytes=1mb & so on).the total usage is sum of these values.these values reset to zero as soon as you disconnect.

They have to activate your portal id and password on http://p3hosting.bsnl.in:9080/BroadB...rtal/index.jsp If its not activated, u get the resulting blank page.

Their new page to check the account usage still needs a lot of tuning up needed to be done. I found that their old page was far better with accurate findings of the dl/upload. I don't know why they changed it.

if i am correct the new page is only for new customers having ip address as 117.x.x.x. also new page does show upload, download, total & amount(in paise) for each time period for which you are connected.what it does not show is which plan you are using.also it shows your total transfer without deducting the monthly usage you have been given with your plan & hence bill shows more than your actual bill.
