Default Unbelivable speeds in utorrent combined with horrible connection problems

im starting to get unbelivable speeds - around 3.5mbits but im starting to face horrible connection problems!the adsl light stays on but the modem doesnt connect to the net!i checked the logs and it says "call failed"!this only happens when i switch of the modem for a long interval and when i turn it back on the adsl light stays on but cant connect!

after keeping the modem on for long it automatically connects!Wierd!!

i called up customer care & when i said the adsl light stays on, the guy got confused and took my no. and said he'll call me back(yeah rite!like thts ever gonna happen)

any solutions or is it some exchange problem?

try resetting network adapter when you are unable to connect, see what happens?
In Vista do this by going to - Manage network connections - right click on LAN and diagnose and repair. But really not sure in XP how its done...
should be an option somewere in network places.
check for disturbance in the phone connection....
also could be a fault with the exchange itself.... ive had similar experience for a week sometime ago. for that you will have to wait patiently. got sorted......
