Rep Power: 0 | Hi All, I took a BSNL Broadband Home-250 plan 6 month before. When I received first month bill, it was unbelievable. Internet usages around 10 GB Usage for that month. When I asked the BSNL ppl to change my plan to Home 900 and consider previous bill according to home 900 plan. As I know that Rs. 900 is upper cap of broadband bill usages. As it was my first bill I requested them to do accordingly. I discussed with General Manager, Even GM also agress to do and he hand over my request form to the senior accountant but he didn't took any action. I took many follow but they haven't done anything. So I stopped to take follow ups. Now Boys, I received notice from bsnl office to pay that huge amount of Rs. 13000, if I could nt pay that amount I have face the court. Please guide me what I should do in that Case. Does this notice is major issue. Plz Plz advise me. Boys I am really got frustruted because of BSNL Bbroadband Notice. |

| Platinum Member | if i am correct you can not request your plan to be changed for the month you have already been issued a bill.if that would be the case everyone will download 100gb/month using home 250 & then request for a home 900 plan after getting the huge bill.it was entirely your fault that you didn't check your usage regularly using bsnl's site.you should have been more careful while using limited plans such as home250.i suggest that you pay the bill as even in a court you don't have any strong arguments in your favour. also even if you applied for a plan change in the middle of month there is no guranttee that your plan would be changed before the end of month & in that case also you would be getting the same bill. |

Rep Power: 7 | whitestart_999 is correct. Your plan change will be effective from the succeeding month. But to get back to your issue - are you contesting the fact that you did not use 10GB for the month? What kind of usuage are you doing? You must be already aware that the upload/download applies to all page visits, file download/uploads, music/video upload downloads, chatting including video chatting, etc. Video of any kind is really a killer.

Rep Power: 2 | If you had indeed downloaded or uploaded 10 gb with your 250 plan, then there is no other go but to pay for it, since the fault was on your side. You should have limited your download knowing how much you are going to download. If you did not download that much then you should prove to them that it was not your fault in some way to prove it. |

Rep Power: 1 | bro dont be upset if u haven't done anything, first of all tell me that have u done that much surfing or not. u can check in the portal website Dataone WebMail if it shows that u have used a 10 gb download then sorry bro it was ur fault. but if u r right then go directly to AO computers in ur local exchange and check up ur account using their CCMS software. and kindly let us know what has happened. |

Rep Power: 0 | dear friend, BSNL are very rigid with their plans. for instance i had opted for home500 plan and just after 2 days wanted to change it to UL900+ they told me to wait for a month as it would complete the billing cycle. It may not be customer friendly but it is their rules. Secondly when you took their service you have impliedly accepted their terms and conditions. You were aware that your plan had usage restrictions and you should have been careful. You should have checked your usage everyday. And it just is not possible to run that kind of usage by just browsing websites. You certainly have downloaded large chunks of data. Thirdly BSNL broadband is part of BSNL telephone. Hence if U don't pay your broadband bill, they have a right to disconnect all of your BSNL phones. And recover the amount, they will. Next do an introspection and checkout whether you have really downloaded that kind of data or whether someone else have stolen your bandwidth? (can happen with wireless modems just last month papers in Bangalore carried a story of a software engineer who received an exorbitant bill due to bandwidth theft). Or did your friends or family who visit your home made use of the net? Finally there is no solution. if you suspect that you were over billed Approach the telephone adalat. But your application will be entertained only after you make full payment of the disputed bill. Your situation is akin to one who has used his new mobile phone connection without realising the usage charges. so best thing to do is to pay up and restrict your net usage. |
