I sincerely hope so. Just talk to BSNL about it - preferably talk to the area manager of your exchange in charge of Dataone.

Renting a modem was a bad idea. Renting should be exercised as an option if you are going to take a connection for a limited time only - say you are on deputation to some other city for work, etc.
