paste these commands in a notepad/text file & then save them as .bat

for disconnect--
Quote:
rasdial "bsnl" /disconnect
for connect--
Quote:
rasdial "bsnl" abc_bsr@bsnl.in password
where "bsnl" is the name of my connection,"abc_bsr@bsnl.in" is my username & "password" is my password.

schedule them using windows task scheduler

This method will be handy if you have above configuration and often use Firefox 9or any other browser), instead of IE. Not sure if this will work for you if the configuration is different.

Open IE7
Enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and hit enter.
When prompted enter Username "admin" and Passowrd as "admin" (or whatever you have saved previously)
Make sure you select "Remember my password" ( this is very important step)
Click OK and let the page load completely.
Now close the browser window.

Open IE7 again.
Go to Tools>Internet Options>General>Homepage
Enter "http://192.168.1.1/rebootinfo.cgi" into address bar (remove previously saved home page URL if you prefer) and click Apply and then OK.
Press F5 and wait for few seconds and check if the modem reboots.(how to check: DSL, Internet and WLAN lights on the modems front panel go off one by one and come back momentarily)
Close IE7.

Now simply using windows Scheduler (Start>All Programs>Accessoris>System Tools>Scheduled Tasks), schedule to run IE7 everyday at 2:10AM and 7:50AM.

Voila!

i dont think this will work at all coz every time no matter even if you have saved the password in ie or ff a confirmation dialog will still appear and you will have to click ok to get into router.

for bridge mode read my above post(using batch files).for pppoe mode read from the beginning of this topic.for pppoe mode you have to paste some commands for rebooting your modem into a text file & then execute them using a tool tst10.exe.you can shdelue this using windows task scheduler too.these are the only 2 largely used methods with a little change in scripts for different modem.

I've tried this in IE7, it seems to work for me. I've NOT tested this in IE6 or Firefox. Confirmation dialog did not appear for IE7 even after restarting the PC.

it is working fine with me also .... good tip ....

if you have bridge mode ON ...

Download the software from here.
Free Download Manager - absolutely free download accelerator and manager

After installation, you can see scheduler tab as in pic. You will have to schedule it , like i have done, dial the connection at 2.15am, launch utorrent at 2.16am, and shutdown the pc at 7.50. To be on safer side ... dont forget to add reboot of router ...

With these settings i download gigs of data daily without staying awake.

::initial ... idea from friend of mine .. slightly amended by me....
