Question Querris to BSNL Admins & Mods :) pls reply

Guys im reciding in Chennai.Im having 900UL plan BSNL. I have 2 querries in this topic.

    1. At times like 9.am to 10.pm the pings are really too high. But at night times its cool. I am basically a professional gamer and ping does matter to a larger extent for me. High pings = laggy games. So please suggest me the reason. This problem is existing only for some 2 weeks or so.
For example you can see this if you go to the speedtest.net site where you can check your speed. You have to select a server for checking it and the recommended server is mumbai. At 9am to 10pm its 600-800 ping and at night times its below 100.
    2. Since Airtel increased the speed now , there are rumours that BSNL may increase its speed. Can you confirm it if possible.

    Please Moderators kindly reply me.

I am not a moderator but will try to answer your queries.

    1. The BNSL ADSL connections are shared in a contention ratio of 50:1. Here is a verbatime from the BSNL DataOne FAQ Page

A commonly applied contention rate is 50 : 1. All customers are guaranteed the plan rate up to the local exchange or the ADSL equipment to which they are connected. On the shared part of the network a 50:1 contention ratio would mean that a 2 Mbps connection would be shared by 49 others. In reality this is very unlikely to happen and the customer would find the connection much faster than dial-up modems. ADSL relies on individual users not making unreasonable traffic demands on the network to provide fast access speeds for all. If you are not getting the speed you expect, it can be due to the contention ratio but also to many other factors including the congestion at the remote site you are accessing.
Hence during day time there are expected to be more users online. The DHCP server at BSNL will be busy and hence response times are slower.

    2. Speeds are bound to increase as well as rates are expected to dip. How soon is a question which only BSNL can answer. But I expect something happening in this year.

I knew that the services are shared. But my doubt is that only it exists for like some 2 weeks. Before that it was cool 24x7. Thx for your kind reply.

Im glad to answer your questions. But it'll be easy if you are more specific.
You asked - ^How come "this" work^ and ^Like what are the benefits of "it"^

What does this and it stands for?
