    hey guys,
u can change ur bb password using www.bsnl.data.in if u have a account in bsnl.in domain or u can change it on Dataone WebMail if u have in dataone.in domain.

actually 192.168.1.1 is a router configuration IP address and it is not used to change ur BB password. it is used to configure ur router for ur connection.

    @sankarsingh,

You can change your password by logging in to DataOne's portal. The address is: http://p3hosting.bsnl.in:9080/BroadBandCustomerPortal/

You will need your portal id and password for the same. Note that portal-id/password is not the same as your BB username/password.

I dont have portal id except bb username and password then how can I change my password? I already changed my mail password at mail.bsnl.in but still its not changed in my router settings, it was accepting old password which is the same by default.

Call up the BSNL 1-800 helpline. They will provide you the portal id. Alternately, if you can visit your exchange also.

Anyway, the portal page does not appear to be working right now.

All said and done, you do not have to worry too much about your BB password. As long as there is port binding no one (other than the BSNL people) can hack into your connection from another telephone.

However, if you have wireless at home, please implement wireless security.

If you change your password of your account, don't forget to change your modem password too, else you will not be able to access the net. I had such issue once and had to get instruction from bsnl to change it.

If u have got ur connection lately, u can got to BSNL Portal
    then click on
'Broadband Customers Please Click Here to Login'

u ll reach a window (if lucky enough) prompting for

Logon to Broadband Account Management site
    Portal ID
    Password

for this u ll need a portal id and password; which is different from ur BB username and pw. if u vent got it yet, call up the broadband people and get it from them.
once done u can chek ur account usage, change portal or BB password.

    thats it

(if lucky enough: A no. of times this does not open, but u have more chances of getting thro during the day)
