can u tell me which bittorrent client r u using and which program r u using to get that speed
can u tell me which bittorrent client r u using and which program r u using to get that speed
uTorrent is the best.
Am i alone confusing the voting here to total download speeds with the conection speed or any one else with me?![]()
i took bsnl 500c home plan 1 month ago. untill 1 week ago i used to get a speed abt 200-220 kBps in utorrent.for last week or so i m gettin a max speed of 70 kBps.
"CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP."
i used to dlod around 3.5 GB per night(2.00-8.00am)
now i can hardly get 900 MB.
i m at my wits end. PLEASE HELP.
Similiar problem here, I'm on 750 unlimited home plan and internet browsing slows down during 2-8am time period. One of the reasons could be too many people using Bittorrent during 2-8am which could overload BSNL's network..
@ cableguy
how much speed do u get??
if u r on ul750 then ur download speed should be around 32-36kBps.
do u get even slower speed???
do u use utorrent in the back while browsing.
if u want to browse while utorrenting, limit its dlod speed to 20kBps.

Bittorent speeds are OK. I stop bittorent downloads when browsing sites. Youtube gives me the most trouble in the 2-8am period and videos load very slowly. I've noticed that Youtube gets back to normal speed just after 8 am.
will u do one thing for me, change the dns to default.
i.e. let bsnl choose it. restart pc and modem, then see what happens.
Thank You for valuable information
cableguy the thing happening with the bsnl is,during 2am to 8 am u were assigned bad ip gateways
like 59.92.128.1,
59.92.192.1
these ips r dead slow during 2am to 8 am ,lots of users r on this gateway and hence we all face slow speeds
u cna check your gatway by going to the network monitor of the dial up and then right click status and then details
last nite i got 500kbps speed, really pathetic 59.92.128.1, is worst gateway and its frequently assigned one
but u should be happy.ur atleast getting over 1mb speed.two months ago i got good speed and then it deteriorate.and i dont think its the ip thing.coz the ip is always the 59.something and it works so nice after 8.00am.these people may have programmed the net to work slow between 2-8 am.my download speeds sky rocketed to 3 mb after 8.00am.they r so punctual, once the free time elapses they give good speed .but one more thing is the number of users using bsnl connection near ur house.the more users the more slow ur connection during the free period.i think the speed is not that dependent upon the dns,the ip,the configuration of ur modem.it could be more dependant upon ur provider.i never changed a thing in my modem.didnt even reconfigure it.yet i got good speeds.how so.with an snr of something over 7 i got a speed of 3mb in the morning.how so.its all too weired to me.the number of users using at the same time and the local provider bsnl looks is more likely to lower ur speed.
what and from where you people download?
I have Home 500C plan my average download speed is 92 kBps. I don't download much unless necessary. Only I search for info on new technology and books and download them. Most of the new softwares I get along with my PCQuest subscription companion DVDs. Some time I have to d/l as it is not given in and CD/DVD.
The last file I have downloaded of a big size is Mandriva Linux 2009 (4.3 gb) in 3 days 2-8am
i think if u download from RS Premium your speed will go to max during ul hrs.
Utorrent speeds vary according to torrents/seeds etc.
at wat time do u guys connect to get free download??? i mean the exact time
Free download is available only on select plans. So please ensure that your plan has such a provision. Its better to start downloading after 2am and stop it before 8am.
can we change the plan online?
nope... you cant change the plan online you have to go the BSNL exchage or commercial center then give an application & then they will change ......
how long wil it take?
usually it will change from the commencing month but i recommend (if you are going from limited to unlimited) please wait for 2 months & be 100% sure that your plan has changed before you start downloading ....
thanx for the reply. am using 500C and i want to change to 600C, as 1.5gb is too low for me
ok if 600C is also a limited plan you know your limits so use accordingly but be 100% sure that your plan has changed, BSNL has a very good tendency to tell that plan has changed but there it will be the same and later they send you a cute little bill of some thousands.... confirm then use it...!
