As far as I know, it is not possible to assign a static IP to your BSNL BB if your plan does not provide for it. Also it would be most unadvisable to do so.

A BB connection may get broken very briefly in between a session and the modem/router tries to get the connection established as quickly as possible. This break of session is so brief that you may not even notice it. When a session breaks your router is liable to get a new real IP but 99% of the times it will be the same. You will think that you have got one long session but that is not the case.

If you give a static IP to your network adapter, and the IP address changes after the brief break there could be conflicts (duplicate IP address over the DSLAM circuit).

Click on the 'Advanced' tab. Then click on 'Virtual Server' from the LHS panel.

You can find the portforwarding here: Port Forwarding for the UTStarcom UT-300R2U

If this does not work, then configure the router in bridge mode. In the bridge mode, all ports are forwarded.

don't believe for a second anyone who claims to use other's ID & password to browse even when port binding is in place.bsnl is mainly using port binding for new customers(2-3months old & having IP in range 117.x.x.x).many old customers still haven't been covered under this port binding scheme.
