You need to implement Wireless Security. Please refer to my wireless security primers and my guides.

Default Turn off wireless

You could just turn off the wireless in the router settings if you do not intend to use it.
You can always turn it on later when required.

use a very strong SSID and a difficult IP that no one could guess.

This will not help at all if the SSID broadcast is enabled. The only solution is to enable wireless security.

@yatin_46, please refer to my two sticky posts in this (BSNL) forum. There are two guides attached to the two posts. There is a section on wireless security in each. I have referred to Linksys WRT54G wireless router. I do not know what router you have. But the principles are same.

Please also refer to my posts on Wireless Security Primer and Wireless Security Primer - II for understanding about wireless security, implications, methods, etc. (do a forum search for these posts).

For this you can disable and even change your SSID broadcast and Use encryption key.
