oh my god,u are getting speeds upto 215 kbps and still u are complaining!!!! what u are getting is good enough,i sometimes get a max of 230 kbps and i haven't tweaked any settings on my computer.

some of my friends have reported that they are getting 250KB/s in night unlimited and they have already crossed 120 GB download mark!!
but as far as i know that you cannot do anything to increase your speed unless you hack the NIB servers and remove the bandwidth cap on your account which is next to impossible even if you did then you will not stay at home peacefully forever somehow you will be tracked and busted!! as remaining anonymous on the net is a myth!!

also you can only use 80-90% of your max line speed so all users(majority)who have 2048kbps/2mbps as their max line speed they can achieve speeds around 215-225KBps but never 256KBps constantly.to get 256KBps constantly your line speeds must be around 2.1-2.3mbps which is the case with some users because of some upgradation work going on at their local exchange.for rest of us 215-230KBps is what we are supposed to get.

i get very high speeds during day times , speeds are usually 300KByte per sec for torrents!
but at NU period its pathetic , frequent d/c and slow speeds , what the hell!
now dont tell me tht bsnl servers are choking all of a sudden because it used to be fine last december(which is when i d/c my service and now i've reconnected this month).

bsnl's servers are do getting more crowded since last year but only for those who used to get 250KBps before & now getting 215-230KBps which we are supposed to get.

the connection turns totally wierd after 2am till 8am !
the worst thing is that the modem freezes after a good 30 to 45 min of downloading.
all the lights(on modem) behave noramlly as it should and it gives no clue that the modem has freezed. the only way to identify the problem was when i tried to log in to the modem's web ui which i couldn't.
