Default Can we reboot the router this way??

Can the router(wifi) be rebooted wirelessly??

I am waiting for my broadband installation and took the home 1000 rs plan. The plan starts with a minumum of 384kbps-2 mbps with night unlimited and a maximum of 5 g.b. Is any one using this plan?? Please advise if the speeds are okay?

Now coming to the router part..... i have a laptop and a desktop. The desktop is downstairs along with the desktop and my parents lock the door in the night. So can i reboot the router with wireless?

Today i saw my neighbours getting thier new BB connection and i set it up for them. During the installation when we update the settings in the modem using 192.168.1.1, after inputing username and password there is an option for save and reboot modem. Can i wirelessly connect to 192.168.1.1 at 2.05 am and reboot the modem using this??

I think it will work what do you guys say? Of course i need to be awake at that time.... and i have no problem with it.

    thanks guys

Is your wireless router in the PPPoE mode or Automatic DHCP mode? You can reset wirelessly if the wireless router is in PPPoE mode.

    Default Yes U CAN

u can reboot the router, just you have to know the router IP and set the same to your system gateway, now u are able to access the router, u can do what ever u want, PPPoE is just a protocol to connect, and DHCP will only assign the IP's automatically, or else u can set the ip to static, make sure that ur router is not enabled the (WEP or any other protection)

Well actually the installation is going to take place tomorrow and i had already paid 1800 rs for the combined modem/router. Are there different companies amongst the modem/router provided by bsnl?? If so can you advise a specific company/model. thanks

Thank you very much again player.
    You are helping me alot.

Is there any option of choosing any of those companies??

Anyway ... how is the range on the siemens one provided by bsnl? Does it penentrate thick walls well?

Can it come one floor upstairs??

Please note that colums, beams and slabs in an RCC structure contain metal (iron rods) and that impedes any RF signal. So do not expect a quality signal on one floor up or down. You will get the best signal only in the room directly above/below where the wireless router is placed.

Walls are brick and cement and pose a lesser challenge. In the west, walls are made up of thick wood and/or hollow bricks (bricks have an air column inside). This is meant to retain heat. This design also helps in better signal passthrough.
