Default Any one using the home 1000 plan??

I wanted to take the 900 ul plan but after knowing that the download speed is capped at 256kbps i decided to add 100 and take the home 1000 plan which starts at 384kbps-2mbps. And also the night unlimited is there and i get a limit of 5gb(just to be in the safe side)

    What do you guys think??

5 gb should be fine for an average user. Do you download a lot? Can you effectively use the night time free?

If you play online games like Counter Strike for more than 6 hrs a day then go for unlimited plan as daily usages shoots to 300-400MB per day and 5 gb is used up in 18 days ... Other wise Home plan1000 is best.

Just wanted to ask that I am currently on home 500 plan which has speed of 256kbps - 2Mbps. If I upgrade to home 1000 plan that has a speed of 384kbps - 2Mbps, will it make any difference to my download speed? Currently I am getting download speed between 170 -180 kbps in actual terms. Will my changing to home 1000 give me download speed above 250kbps?
BSNL officials in my city are unable to confirm it. Any help in this regard would be deeply appreciated.

I don't think practically it will make much difference as I am using Home 500 I am getting 210-230 KB/s.Few other user are using Home 1000 also they said they are getting almost same speed. But only one benefit is preset in Home 1000 that user minimum speed is officially 384 kbps.

thanks vikram. As you said the minimum speed officially mentioned in BSNL home 1000 plan is 384 so I was thinking that it could make it at least up to 300. But if it doesn't, there is another higher plan called home 1800 which lists 512 as minimum speed. I'd happily go for this but I am not sure if these plans deliver in practice.

BSNL is bound to give 90% of promised minimum speed.
