Default extending the range of the quidway wa1003A ?

    HI
    im a newbie here
im using the bsnl-provided huawei quidway WA1003A router/modem
it is installed alongside a desktop PC in my home office
internet works fine if im in the same room with above-average speeds
    internet sharing is enabled
i can connect both the desktop and laptop at the same time

however on leaving the room with its door shut i lose the signal
or on rare occasions receive an extremely weak & unusable one
id like to be able access the internet in my home as well. there are a couple of doors and walls in between the two locations
im using a dell inspiron6400 with vista

Are there any recommended methods to improve the signal strength
i would not want to change the present location of the router

After a bit of reading, as i understand it, there are 'range extenders' available
D-link being a company mentioned somewhere
Not being too technologically proficient im pretty confused in this matter

Can anyone recommend any specific models which would work with the wa1003a? Do i need some other hardware instead?
Any tried and tested 'tweaks' that i may apply to my existing setup to achieve the same result

thanks in advance for your advice
    regards
    aditya

In India, because homes have an RCC structure and walls are made with non-hollow bricks, the problem you are facing is quite common. If you can, try relocating the wireless router to a central location in the home. This will provide better coverage.

If that is not possible you can buy a wireless range extender.

Any range extender will work with your wireless network. But as range extenders do not sell in big numbers, they are costly. You cannot go wrong with range extenders from Linksys, Netgear, D-Link, etc.
