Red face problems with UT300R2U modem

Hi Friends,

a UT300R2U modem was installed at my place by some engineer. This was for my BSNL Broadband. He came in at a when i was not there at home.(My younger Bro did not ask him any details) The net was working fine at that time. But after that when we tried opening the connection next time we are not able to browse anything. I am a total layman when it comes to networking and only have a basic idea about computers. I dont know if my modem type is I or II. Tried calling the customer care but its not happening. Someone please help me out with the settings that need to be done in the computer and also for the modem.

Thanks in advance

There must be a dialer created on your PC. Check if there is any icon called 'BSNL Braodband' or 'Dataone' or 'BSNL Dataone', etc. on your desktop and double click it.

If there is no such icon on desktop, please do the following:

a) Click on 'Start' button and hover your mouse on the 'Connect to' menu option in the Start menu.
b) Choose the dialer option - it has the icon of a Earth globe. It may be named something like 'BSNL Braodband' or 'Dataone' or 'BSNL Dataone', etc.
c) Click this menu/icon.

You will a dialog window that has your BSNL user name. Click on the 'Connect' button. The PC will dial your modem and establish connection. Once the connection is established, you will see a small balloon in the task bar saying a 'Connected to ...' message. From this point on, you can now connect to internet.
