Default Need the Fastest speed plan with budget of approx INR 1500

Hi guys, I am having BSNL unlimited 256 kbps home plan but the speed sucks. I am power user and spend 14 hours in on my system and speed is very important for me.

I am looking to upgrade my plan so can u ppl please tell me the best BSNL plan in terms of speed and bandwidth(both limited and unlimited) with a budget of INR 1500 to 2k (at max).

    Thanks

    hey poseidon
this is bsnl ,bsnl is not meant for power users like you ,bsnl have such plans that will suit you conditions but they are not unlimited ,i highly recommed you to switch over to some private isp (if you have anybody in you area) like sify, airtel etc otherwise if you are a fan of bsnl then the buisness unlimited plans are best for you but they are costly (rs 5000 + taxes p/m) and ofcourse you will get speeds upto 8Mbps
these are the fastest connection speed throughout india and only bsnl is offering such speeds.

    thanks

With 1500 you can get 512 kbps connection from Airtel which is really good and also i heard some where on this forum that you can also get the double speed by paying extra 250 per month which i think is really good.

    Default best plan

BSNL home 500combo is best plan ever seen.Using linux you will get minimum 150kBps speed at any time. This plan also provides night unlimited from 2:00AM to 8:00AM ,thus you can do anything with this.

All BSNL unlimited plans speeds will suck.

airtel and sify are both absolutely awful.

Airtel has fair usage policy so they will do stuff like halving your bandwidth if you end up crossing your "shadow" download quota (not the advertised quota).

The only good other broadband is Reliance but their prices are hideous. It also depends a lot on which city you live in.

In terms of speed, *IF YOUR EXCHANGE IS GOOD*, any of the old bsnl combo plans are good. With home500,1000,1800 and 3300 you will get around 1.8-1.9Mbps.

All of these plans have unlimited night time downloads (2:15am-7:45am), but limited daytime downloads [2.5/5/10/30(?) GB]

Do get anywhere close to 2 Mbps you will end up paying Rs 2000 or more and on top of that you will almost always not have free unlimited nighttime downloads.

Free unlimited night time downloads is good because you can schedule downloads during this period and use 20-30GB per month (or whatever you can depending on how much and which servers you torrent/p2p from)

Broadband in India is an absolute mess but out of the sea of shittiness BSNL is slightly better.
