Default Is this possible in BSNL Broadband?

For somedays my landline has been out of order but the net functioned well, I am confused with this now. In order to get net from bsnl, isnt that the landline should also function right or is it not? Can we able to get only the net thru telephone cable without the landline functioning?

Now both are out of order and waiting to get it rectified from their end, that's a differnt story.

well the same thing happening with me from last few days....the phone is not working & BB is still on......i think the reason is the ADSL signal Frequncy is 3 times that of normal phone signal.....so its like two different signals going on the same line.....so if phone signal is not there, does't mean that ADSL shudn't......i cleared this doubt from the local BSNL office.........& there is no need for the landline for BB of BSNL...but its their business policy to promot land line with BB.......marketing is dirty game after all

The phone line runs from your home to the junction box and then to the exchange. At the exchange, there are splitters - one connection goes to the Voice circuits and the other goes to DSLAM and BRAS.

If there is problem with the line, both BB and Voice will be down.

On the other hand if the Voice Circuits are down, BB will continue to work.

Phone should be working in order to have a working Broadband connection. If you do not have a working phone line they your broadband connection would not be working,
