Default

right click on "my computer".click "properties".then click on "advanced" tab.click on "settings" in bottom most column "startup & recovery".click on"edit" & notepad file will come up.it should contain only one line something like this(not necessarily same but similar)

Quote:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional"
if there are more than one line like this then you have to remove one of them.which one you should remove is by looking both lines.e.g.my line says multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1) which means first hard disk first partition which is C: in my case.do not edit the file unless you are absolutely sure or you won't be able to boot after restart.if unsure then paste all the lines in your notepad file along with details of windows install drive & the one which you format & i will see.
