The MTU Value needs to be changed.

Open the Configuration page>>>>go to the Setup>>>

Select BSNL>>>>>change the MTU value from 1492 to 1452>>>apply

Go to tools>>>>system Commands>>>>click save all.

    Sorry,
These settings are not available for WImaX.

    Try open DNS-
OpenDNS | Providing A Safer And Faster Internet

Follow their guide to set open DNS on your laptop.

BTW, how is TATA Wimax experience?
Costs an arm and a leg...Dose'nt it?

    @leonjohn 2190
    To change MTU
    try tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net.

    Opendns :
Start /Network /LAN or wireless link
    Properties
    TCP/IP
    Properties

    IN DNS column
    enter
    208.67.220.220
    208.67.222.222
    Apply SAVE.

    Para two:
TATA WiMax connection & it does not come with a modem
Are you are getting only a RJ45 cable from the Wireless installation?
In the box in the antenna installed
is there is a modem using PoE ( Power over Ethernet )
    Please confirm.

    REF:

PowerDsine PD-3001/AC - Power Over Ethernet from Universal Networks

Usually the wireless router will have a configuration page (like 192.168.0.1) . There should be a option to change the MTU (The chunk size of ur data) value.

U need to change the MTU of the wireless router and/or ur PC .

To change ur PC's MTU open up command prompt

type : netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface
this will show all the network adapter's MTU value
    for eg

MTU MediaSenseState Bytes In Bytes Out Interface
    ------ --------------- --------- --------- -------------
    4294967295 1 0 447844 Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1
    1400 1 273076969 8559595 Wireless Network Connection
    1500 5 0 0 Local Area Connection
    1500 5 0 0 Bluetooth Network Connection

now suppose we need to change the MTU value to 1452 of "Wireless Network Connection" interface, then

type : netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Wireless Network Connection" mtu=1452 store=persistent
