Hey guys,is there any guys out there, who are from Orissa and are using BSNL Datacard which has Rs550 UNLIMITED PLAN with Max speed 2.2MBPS????

Im really amazed by this Rs550 unlimited plan and also the speed is very reliable,as its giving 2.2MBPS..
SO is anyone here using this plan???
Im going to take this datacard plan of BSNL tomorrow and i just want to know if there is any kind of shortcomes in it or not

IT WILL COST ME Rs 4000 in total for DATACRD + ONE MONTH's BILL..
So what do you all say??
Shall i go for it????

Default Evdo

The datacard is based on EVDO Service.
I am using it for the past 3 months.

The service is good and u will get rated speed but there are few drawbacks.

1) Since it is WLL based the signal is not same at all places.
2) U will get 2 Mbps Max but not average.
3) Average Download speed will lie between 100-150 KBps.
4) In peak hours the speed may not be as good.

But all in all this service is excellent as compared to all other datacard services.

Ok thanks bro..
but am i going to get that much speed from that???
And why do they depend on signals???
I used to use Relaince Data card 1 year before and it worked fine for me everywhere. And BSNL towers are everywhere,so i think,it should work good.
My house is 15 kms from BSNL tower. Will it work fine??

very few people here uses EVDO(very less availability as currently it is in a testing phase).also did you confirm the availability of EVDO at your local exchange because you will get a 2mbps speed only if your local exchange has EVDO otherwise you will get 144kbps speed using bsnl cdma network.though both cdma & EVDO use same data card.i am not sure but 15km is a big distance considering that the EVDO signal will be carried using bsnl's cdma network.better to clear all these details from a bsnl person in your area.

In my area they a charging Rs.6500 for purchase while Rs.250 as rent.
In my advice u should gor for rent since after purchasing the modem u have no choice left but to use it (Since the service is still in testing phase).

EVDO signals are different from CDMA and provide high speeds in short ranges.
Higher the signal better the speed and vice versa.

Since u r living 15Kms away from Exchange, if the tower is near u with EVDO equipment then u will get good speed.

Note: If some other guy has take the above said service in ur area first check with him abt QOS.

that is why you should get all the facts before taking any bsnl plan.bsnl provides two types of wireless internet speed---CDMA & EVDO(testing phase).CDMA is available everywhere but its speed is 144kbps.EVDO's speed is upto 2.4mbps but is available in very few places.it depends on whether EVDO equipment is installed at your local exchange.for both speeds(CDMA & EVDO) same data card is provided by bsnl.therefore you must always confirm whether EVDO service is available at your local exchange because if it is not you will get only speed of 144kbps(18KBps) on your EVDO card.
