    Default Here it goes

First Conenct ur modem with the PC using Ethernet/USB (Ethernet Recommended).

Now open LAN CArd Settings and open TCP IP Settings.

Under IP Address Type Following: 192.168.1.2 (2-255, whichever u like)
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.1.1

    Preferred DNS: 61.1.96.69
    Alternate DNS: 61.1.96.71

Now in ur browser open 192.168.1.1. This will open the Siemens Configuration page.

Switch to Configuration>Internet (Left Side of the window).

Under list of Connections Locate the connection with (0/35 Parameters).

Click on Configure (Small Icon near on the right side of the connection)

Type ur user name and Password there. (For PPoE Connection type. Else u have to set a dial up connection for bridge type.)

click connect. If, all goes well enjoy.

No need to connect every time since PPoE connection establishes the Connection to the internet automatically without the need of a computer.

if that modem is supplied by bsnl it should have all the settings already.you just have to choose bridge or pppoe mode.bridge mode is recommended for limited plans & pppoe mode is recommended for unlimited plans though it is entirely your choice.

in bsnl provided siemens c2110 modem you just have to change the connection type(configuration---internet---click on red pencil(edit) in front of last connection 0_35_.click next & change in configure connection type protocol to bridging).don't change any other settings.click next until you reach final screen.click on apply changes.after that restart modem.once your modem is set you have to create a connection in windows using internet connection wizard.

if typing 192.168.1.1 does not open your siemens configuration page then it may be possible that its settings have been changed by someone else because default configuration page is 192.168.1.1

sometimes if you dont receive an ip from your modem or havent configured the ip settings properly on your pc you might not be able to access 192.168.1.1 .. please go to the command prompt by (Start->Run and type cmd) then type ipconfig and post results here

my mistake!i forgot that you have to configure TCP/IP properties too correctly.in TCP/IP properties of your LAN connection set IP address as 192.168.1.10(just an example) & gateway as 192.168.1.1.

it does not make any difference but XP SP2 contains various security updates/patches for XP SP1.also microsoft has just launched a test version of XP SP3 & will soon be launching the final version in few weeks.
