Maybe you should post some screenshots of your router setup page .

are you using the modem provided by bsnl & on a limited plan?i am not sure but it seems that on bsnl provided modems if you are on a limited plan only bridge mode will work & for unlimited plan only pppoe mode will work especially for new customers.

I don't think so. The modem configuration is not visible outside the private network. Whether you configure in bridge mode or pppoe, the final connection is always pppoe.

you both misunderstood me.what i am trying to say is in pppoe mode you enter & save your username/password in modem itself & when you turn on the modem it dials to connect to net.
on the other hand in bridge mode you use windows inbuilt dialler to connect to net after turning on the modem.in this you have enter your username/password in windows itself & you have to manually connect everytime by clicking on the "connect to" option in windows.

for limited plan users bridge mode is recommended as there is a risk of their download limit crossed if they leave their modem on for 24hrs while for unlimited users their is no such risk.also no one else can use unlimited account username/pass on their limited plan for extra downloading if unlimited users are always connected & if their connection is not port binded.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

As you have mentioned that your modem received WAN IP address and connection has been established, I believe that link upto modem is thr' and need to bother about your computer.
Can you please paste IP details of your computer by using ipconfig /all in cmd?

Also paste PPPOE settings that you have configured.

    hi
i dontknow if your issue is resolved just saw your problem so thought of replying....

once you connect through the PPPoE mode there is no use of the TCP/IP IP address & DNS Ip address so just in your system set it to obtain IP address automatically by this way you can start browsing,

    Check this also
from cmd ty pinging some site
by this way we can know if it is browser problem or really network problem.

Modem: DareGlobal ( Model Number not mentioned

Info : (a)worked on "Diaup" mode for a year.
.........(b) Changed to "Always On" PPP/PPPoE mode.

    Problem : Lost connection.

    Suggested solution:
See this web site of GOA bsnl for screen shots and step by step guide.
    New Page 1

(* ignore if not interested )
Addl info : modem similar to Beetel220bx/New Utstar300R2u etc. ( same Firmware board )

User Name can be entered without @ bsnl.in or @ datone.in.
Result : Feedback requested. +ve or -ve.

The IP address, Default gateway and DNS server IPs should be specified in the LAN card properties. Obtain IP address automatically will only work if the modem has DHCP enabled.

niraj8241 the problem from your DNS setting. You have to set the DNS in your Router or in your Lan TCP/IP section.

Go to your Lan TCP/IP Section and put this value

    Preferred DNS Server 218.248.240.179
    Alternet DNS Server 218.248.240.79

Before puting this value cheak this web address is opening or not. If this address open then above solution will resolve your problem
    Cheak this Yahoo!
