Thread: ADSL link goes often....

HI,
The ADSL LED of my UT-300R2U goes off often. Some days it will work fine without any problems, but when it happens it goes on for hours. It goes off, then starts blinking and comes back, then after sometime it again repeats. Happens mostly at nights. When I contacted the technician, he said that the problem could be with me connecting the modem to UPS, but even when i connect it directly to the mains the problem persists. He says the line connectivity is good. So, where could be the problem? Please help me....

call ur local exchange for help..........& don't connect the Modem directly to the Mains supply.......if irregular power supply, can mess ur modem or its adapter

Hai buddy i have the same problem it cos of earthing ................Just make sure u have got proper earthing conn..........................try to place u r modem away from u r comp and keep it on some insulated material this should help......................

well i keep my modem in the CPU & there is no problem so far for me. don't know about the earthing though

You cannot "earth" the modem. Basically "earth" is somthing on the PCB itself. If the circuit is not properly earthed, it will not work.

p/s. I have a Dazzle Hollywood DV bridge that failed to get recognized by XP because its circuit was not earthed. I had to open it and create the earthing on the PCB (by soldering a wire from -ve to earth) and then it started working.

The why is the ADSL link not stable even i face the same problem................ The BSNL engineer told there may be some problem with my sys so he told he will get his laptop n check............

if u could send in info of ur comp config n the software running on it then it will be great help.................

The point I was making is that, assuming that there is GROUND problem in the modem, we as consumers can do nothing about it unless we have expertise at electronics. I studied electronics but I am still wary of opening up boxes and devoiding the warranty.
