| Platinum Member | don't worry friend.it take some time.i never used torrents in my entire life before.i just read & read for 2-3 days about all there is to know about torrents/settings/modem/port forwarding etc. & here i am today.same is the case with modem. both DMZ & bridge mode are a security risk without firewall so my suggestion is go for bridge mode.just edit your connection settings & select type of connection as "bridging".nothing else to change.only change is that now you have dial from windows using your username/password instead of just turning on the modem in pppoe mode. |

Rep Power: 5 | those speeds are quite good.. infact you can get even more speeds.. ur torrents have only 2 or 3seeds.. better and more popular torrents will give more speeds..first of all that torrent in utorrent has no seeds.. thats why its not downloading.. another reason could be because utorrent and bittorrent is using the same port?? both cannot use the same port.. so one will give an error |

| Platinum Member | always aim for high.i got speeds from 200-210KBps though i was using 1 private & 1 public torrent.even for public ones try to get speeds of 50-60KBps if there are,say,60 seeders & 120 peers for a public torrent. |

Just4kix, this is an amazing and step by step guide to explain on how to port forward for a newbie like me. I used your steps to port forward my regular bsnl modem and got it successfully. I was trying various other methods to it till and found this superb post and got it perfect and my utorrent is showing green now! thank you once again. | |
