Is port forward possible on pppoe connection

This is a discussion on Is port forward possible on pppoe connection within the BSNL broadband forums, part of the Broadband Internet Service Providers category; guys.. check the attached 2files.. bittorrent and utorrent.... is that speed good?? u ppl made me to smile... i think ...

guys.. check the attached 2files.. bittorrent and utorrent.... is that speed good?? u ppl made me to smile... i think i have done it.. credit goes only to u ppl..... but... .. still... i have a doubt.. my bittorrent showing green at the bottom wher as my utorrent showing yellow ball and saying listen error... why????????

those speeds are quite good.. infact you can get even more speeds.. ur torrents have only 2 or 3seeds.. better and more popular torrents will give more speeds..first of all that torrent in utorrent has no seeds.. thats why its not downloading.. another reason could be because utorrent and bittorrent is using the same port?? both cannot use the same port.. so one will give an error

always aim for high.i got speeds from 200-210KBps though i was using 1 private & 1 public torrent.even for public ones try to get speeds of 50-60KBps if there are,say,60 seeders & 120 peers for a public torrent.

port no. does not matter much.you can select any from 50000-65000.it depends on no. of seeds & peers & uTorrent settings for connections.

whitestar.. how to get a private torrent.. need to pay for that?? if not..can u tel me the site name...

Note: now im strugglin in different torrent problem and posted as different thread... hope u guys can help me

b) Login to router (defualt = admin/admin)
c) Click on Advanced tab

Private IP: <your PC's IP address from step 1>
Protocol: ANY
Local Port: 0
Destination Port From: <the uTorrent port number in Step 2> ~ <the uTorrent port number in Step 2> (this can be a range also)

f) Click on Apply
g) Click on Tools menu (tab) from top panel
h) From LHS panel, select Misc
i) Click on Save and Reboot option.
j) Wait for modem to reboot.

You are done.

Just4kix, this is an amazing and step by step guide to explain on how to port forward for a newbie like me. I used your steps to port forward my regular bsnl modem and got it successfully. I was trying various other methods to it till and found this superb post and got it perfect and my utorrent is showing green now! thank you once again.

ive gota dlink modem...ank a linksysWRT54G...there's no virtual server option in the linksys...just DMZ...enabled DMZ..marginal increse..but dies down again...the dlink is in bridge mode...utorrent works great...without the linksys...plus i've got the WPA off too...wat do i do ?
