Yes. It is possible to port foward in PPPoE mode. The setting are available in "Virtual Server" tab. In UT-300R2U, this is available on LHS panel in the "Advanced" tab.

You will need to know the IP address of your PC and the port range to forward. For example, if your PC's IP address is 192.168.1.5 and you are using uTorrent and wish to foward port number 65000, then you should enter those settings on the "Virtual Server" page.

Note that after you create the rule (setting), you must click on Apply. Merely creating the rule is not enough. Also, reboot you modem, after applying changes.

Caution: If your PC's TCP/IP settings are automatic, then it is likely that you may get a different TCP/IP address next time. In that case, port fowarding will fail because modem has opened the port on a different IP address. You could change the setting to a manual TCP/IP address to avoid this problem.

The above settings are for UT-300R2U. If your modem is different, the links and pages will be different but the principle will be the same.

You will have to open the UT300R2U configuration page.

    a) On the top panel there are tabs. Click on 'Advanced'.
    b) There is a panel on the LHS where lot of 'Advanced' settings will be displayed. Click on virtual server.
    c) Enter the settings that I explained and click on 'Apply'.
    d) Click on 'Tools' from the panel at top. Select 'Misc' from LHS panel.
    e) There is option to 'Save and Reboot'. Click that button.

You need to change the TCP/IP settings on your PC. This is optional but better. The TCP/IP settings can be changed by right click on "My network places" and clicking on 'Properties'. This would be a permanent change and you have to do it once only. You can do it anytime.

in uTorrent usually select port between 50000-60000 & most probably almost no port in this range is open in modem unless you specifically port forward that port.fist fix the incoming port in uTorrent,say,51000 & then port forward this port 51000 in your modem.

if you have UT300R2U then no need to open any ports on the router.. you just have to configure nat-DMZ...and you have to configure your software firewall.. you can use any ports.. normally for torrents it is 6881-6888 .. for utorrent only 1 port is required.. u can use 6884

you didn't get my point.what i meant to say is upto the modem traffic will come to any port.after that modem decides where traffic coming should be send.by default only very ports(standard like 80 for http,21 for ftp etc)don't require port forwarding as modem already recognize these ports.so for other ports you have to do port forward which means if modem receives traffic on port,say,51000,it will be send to your computer.you don't need to find any port.you just have to port forward the port you want to(in this case 51000).

dont worry!!!we'll try our best to help you!!
NAT-DMZ is in your modem's configuration page, go to your browser type 192.168.1.1 and enter username and password as admin ...then click on advanced setup, click on NAT,then click on dmz.. and enter your computer's ip address.. it should be in the form 192.168.1.x .. if you dont know ur computer ip then go to the command prompt and type ipconfig.. you should find it there.. enter ur ip in the modem's config page and save/reboot!!

you can use any ports.. normally for torrents it is 6881-6888
never use ports between this range as this is default for torrents & many ISP's ban/restrict traffic on this port.read here--

What ports should I use for µTorrent?

It is generally recommended to not use any port in the range 6881-6889. µTorrent only uses one port, however, so you only need to forward one. It is best to use a port number above 10000.

Note:I didnt do anything except the above. I didnt change any firewall software. I didnt use any port number.. nothing... What u guys say now?? and one more thing frds.. even the seeds-peers are 25-10.. im still getting this much speed only.. i think we should use some port number.. isn't it??

bcoz.. in the above reply whitestar asking me to USE above 10000 and superprash asking me to USE 6881.. so USE means we should apply it somewhere.. correct me if im wrong..i think still i cant follow u ppl

well 1.jpg says that you have opened a port 56935... try switching off firewall for the time being and see if speeds improve.. secondly the speeds in the second torrent is only 5kbps because there is only 2 seeds.. try getting a better torrent and check if you get better speeds

yes.. when it is coming in utorrent.. it means tha tthe port is opened.. did u try what is said?? switching off the firewall and testing the speed?? and i also said to get a torrent with more seeds so you then you can get better speeds.. try that first..

SEE your modem is ut300r2u there is no port opening system.. all traffic goes to your pc...but your firewall is blocking it(windows firewall for example)...so since a random port is mentioned in utorrent.. it means that port is opened.. but windows firewall is blocking it.. so if you disable the firewall for sometime to test.. then that port in utorrent will be opened and you will get better speeds!!

you don't have to check any port.just make sure that this port 56935 is receiving incoming connection from modem.since you have alreadt set DMZ then it means traffic is coming from this port from modem to your computer.if some firewall is blocking this port in your computer then you have to made change in firewall setting to allow incoming connection on this port as by default all firewall blocks incoming traffic on almost all ports except a few standard ones like 80 for http.21 for ftp etc.
if you are getting a green icon in the bottom tab then it means incoming traffic is coming successfully.low speeds maybe because of poor torrent.

@aruncse30, you need to open ports the way I described. DMZ option as suggested by superprash2003 is also another option. But by making your PC in DMZ you are opening many security risks.
