my modem is different but following settings should be same.----
first of all IP address means the address given by modem to your computer LAN & it is usually 192.168.x.x & default gateway is address of your modem home page i.e. the address which you type in your browser to access your modem settings & it usually 192.168.1.1.

important point----if your default gateway/modem home page is 192.168.1.1 then your IP address must in be this range 192.168.1.2-192,168.1.255.you can set to automatic in which case your IP will change from time to time when modem restarts(e.g. 192.168.1.3,192.168.1.2 etc) or you can set to static & put 192.168.1.2

dns server address can be set to automatic but you can use other addresses as well.e.g.opendns(208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222)but my suggestion is set it automatic unless you experience problem in browsing/downloading.

if you use bridge mode all above settings except IP address setting will be set in windows connection TCP/IP properties.for static/fixed IP you have to disable DHCP in modem otherwise set obtain IP address automatically if DHCP is on in modem.

in pppoe mode(always on mode) you have to enter dns server address settings in modem along with your username/password in modem itself.

    Default I from Kerala

    Hey man...

I am satisfied with our BSNL customer support.

They give me enough details about my connection. This does not mean they can solve all the problems. I meant they can give us answers about Ip, DNS, how 2 configure Router .. like that.

    Preffered DNS 218.248.240.46

    Alternate DNS 218.248.240.79

    These are BSN's DNS servers...
You can also try the two Open DNS ... [In the above post]
