iPhone is not launched in india so you are using a set either hacked or from abroad.in either case it is very difficult to make it work here with bsnl.
Lol.. who told???
Many guys are using :P :P
iPhone is not launched officialy in india.iPhone is locked to a particular service provider meaning it can only be used on that particular provider.all these versions people are using are hacked/unlocked versions which will not be able to work with their full features.here is a link---Lol.. who told???

with each firmware update from apple there is a risk of unlocked phones being locked again.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
yes, whitestar is right.. people wanting to buy, better wait for the official launch, heard there is probably going to be a tie up with airtel bharti or reliance!!
I have been using the iphone(firmware 1.1.4) for the past 4 months now, works fine with my MTNL Triband.
All the features except the visual voicemail(carrier specific feature) are fully functional on the unlocked version.
Are we talking about using iPhone at Wi-Fi hotspot or connecting the iPhone to BSNL broadband via a wireless router?
In the second case, you must configure the modem in PPPoE mode and enable DHCP on the wi-fi router.
m talking about configuring the modem in PPPoE mode and enabling DHCP on the wi-fi router.
Then there is no big deal - whether your iphone is locked or not locked. You can use it on any wi-fi network.
a) Configure your wireless modem/router in PPPoE mode
b) Enable DHCP and SSID broadcast on the wi-fi router
c) Enable wi-fi on your iPhone. The wi-fi will automatically detect the network.
d) If your wi-fi is protected (WEP or WPA-PSK), it will ask for the network key.
e) It will then connect to the network. The router's DHCP will assign an IP to the iPhone.
Note that BSNL, Airtel or such ADSL ISPs have nothing to do with your home wireless network. You make the network wireless at home by having a wireless router.
Also see some guides in the "Broadband How-to" section - particularly the SOHO guide.

Need serious and urgent help..
I have a bsnl connection. I use my laptops wireless connection to connect to the internet at home. I connect to the wireless network, then connect to the broadband and im surfing.
Now, i have recently bought an IPhone and am having trouble connecting to the internet. It detects the same wireless connection as my laptop and connects to it but when i try to surf on the phone it says internet is not connected. I have also tried connecting both my laptop and the phone to the wireless connection and then connecting to the broadband with my laptop.. still the phone does not detect an internet connection. WHAT DO I DO??
PS: The only way i can get internet on my phone is by connecting the laptop to the modem by a LAN wire(not by the usual wireless way) then setting up a adhoc wireless network on the laptop and then connect my phone to the laptop thru it.
I have no clue about setting up all this and ive seen people here having a vast amount of knowledge in this regard.. I sincerely hope u'all can help me out.
Thanks in advance...
