Thread: The Weirdest Problem Ever!!!!!

My problem with bsnl is kinda bizzar. I got my broadband connection in 2005 with home plan 500. On jun 2008 i changed to 900 plus. Up until jan end i had no problem but later onwards, 3hrs a day my broadband connection used to stop (no light in my adsl link in the modem that bsnl gave) mostly during 6-9 p.m. in the evening. But now a days i get a max of 8hrs connection only that too during night 10 to morning 7 rest of the time no signal. when i asked the custom care they said to check with my nearest bsnl centre. My modem was bought during 2005 so the service man said that the modem was old and that i need to buy a new one. But if that is the case why does it work during the night time. I download a lot of stuff and this problem is irritating me a lot so some one plz help me.

its definetly not modem problem...i also dont think it could be a telephone line problem cause you say it works well in the night... what you could do to confirm is check your telephone line..make sure that there are no telephones connected before the splitter.. the telephone cable from the pole should go directly to your splitter and all your telephones must be connected after your splitter..
placing the telephones before splitter reduces the SNR.. and often causes frequent disconnections with your broadband...

also check your usage to see if there is any usage between those hours while you were unablt to connect.it may be an account misuse problem too as 2 people can't login on the same time with same account especially if your account is not port binded(port binded accounts can only be used on that phone line for which account was given & no other place).

ah yes.. that could be a possible!!
