1. This means that your UT-300R2U in configured in bridge mode.

2. Configure WGR614v7 in PPPoE mode (Basic Settings - Login Required). Please refer to your modem guide.

a) Login to WGR614v7 via http://192.168.1.1. Username/password = admin/admin.

b) On the first screen:
... Does your Internet connection require a login? Yes
... Internet IP Address: Dynamic
... DNS Address: Dynamic
... Router MAC Address: Default
Click on Apply

c) Now click on LAN IP Settings from LHS panel. On this page, set the following:
... IP address of the router: 192.168.2.1
... Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
... Use router as DHCP server: Yes or Checked
... Starting IP/ Ending IP: Leave as is
Click on Apply

d) Click on Wireless Setting from LHS panel.
... SSID: any name that you like
... Region: India or equivalent
... Channel: 6
... Mode: g and b
... Security Options: WPA-PSK
... Passphrase: use a very long string of alpha-numeric and special chars
Note: Make passphrase at least 15 characters long (mine is 47 chars). Remember the passphrase. You will require it later on when you connect.

e) Finally change the 'admin' password from Set Password option.

And always refer to your router guide for detailed information as the screens may be different.

Default Done

Hey i did as u said ...except for a change .....
that in the router configuration we need to say No where it asks for

b) On the first screen:
... Does your Internet connection require a login? Yes

Cos as we have entered the username and the password in the modem config it connects directly .....
But still thanks .....after all the end results is what matters.

I dont know whether we can schedule the dialing ....from the router .....but the thing is that ...now in the config done here ......the router doesnot dial i guess....I have written all the configuration details on this in another thread ..search for my threads...
But if u do by that ....then the modem is directly connected to the BSNL network hence the router doesnot dial actually.......
Hence if u can configure the PPPoE settings for scheduling then it will connect ...but i dont thing i mean i didnt find any other stuff in that configuration page ..to do such scheduling....

Also what exactly u want to do using that?

There are quite a few threads here that explain scheduling and scripting for automated modem reboot at 2 AM and 8 AM. Please do a forum search.

Hi! Setting up Netgear WGR614 is very easy and takes just few minutes. CD that comes with the pack is of least help. I have a Netgear WGR614v7 and i am using it with a UTSTARCOM UT300R2U as well. Just refer to the link below. It clearly explains the complete setup procedure in a simplified manner. If you still have difficulties, u can either post on this forum or the link below.
