Default UL 900 vs HOME 500

    Hi All,

I have the ul 900 plan. I went through a few threads in this forum regarding this plan and also home500.

The problem I am facing is that the download speed is low max about 32kb/s and it takes hours to download a gb file.

    I am bugged with this.

would u suggest me to change to home 500?

Even though this has a night ul from 2-8 do they charge after a certain amount(read in a thread),if yes what is the limit?
I plan to download lots... so what do you guys suggest?
    Thanks in advance

In Home 500 BSNL offers unlimited download between 2AM to 8AM with no limit

And 2.5 GB free download between 8AM to 2AM per month

So in simple words for 6 hours per day u have free unlimited D/L

For day time it is fixed to 2.5 GB per month

download speed in 500 plan varies and depends on various factor like exchange capacity in ur area and distance from ur home like that normally in most occasion it varies between 1.6mbps to 2mbps i.e u will get 200kBps to 245 kBps (in theory its 250KBps)
IF YOU ARE a PROLIFICdownlaoded go for 500 plan with no second thought

but becareful to schedule to downloads in night unlimited time like start d/ls at 2.05 and end them at 7.55am

becareful and check data usage frequently

i also changed to 500 plan from 900ul+ since november

There are two plans: Home 500 C and Home 500 C+

Home 500 C: Among other things the main difference is the cost and usage limit. Cost is Rs. 500 pm and limit is 1.5 GB pm.
Home 500 C+: Cost is Rs. 600 pm and limit is 2.5 GB pm.

I would advise the later (Home 500 C+) but be very careful about usage outside the no free time.

    Default go for 500 home

its better to go for 500 home plan, am downloading some 3gb of movies daily

ill run an automatic restart program that will run the download after 2am. switch over to 500 as soon as possible, you need to give a letter in person opting for the plan switch over.

    don choose 500c or 500c+

Yes, i too recently changed from unlimited to the home combo plan. Since the speed for unlimited plan in bsnl is very slow and i am very much reliant on the night time unlimited between 2 to 8 these days and the speed is also pretty decent when compared to unlimited plans.
