Thread: huawei quidway WA1003A series modem problem

I am having BSNL Broadband connection, i got Huawei WA1003A series modem from BSNL. For the past one year it is really working superb. But from the last month the modem is not working (ADSL Lamp will not glow - Even I reset the modem two times). I contacted BSNL officials to set right the problem. They checked my modem and told that the modem is faulty, there is no service centre in india to set right the problem. Kindly help me to set right the problem.'

you mean it doesnt switch on??

the power is on ADSL lamp will glow for sometime and the cut off.

so when the ADSL lamp glows are you able to access the internet during that time??

when ADSL glow, i can not access internet, because it glows for few seconds and then disconnected.

check if your telephone network is similar to this-

tel cable------->splitter--->>>modem
from telephone pole |-->>all other telephones in your house

make sure that there is no telephone before the splitter.. all your telephones must be situated after the splitter..
by having telephones before the splitter ie between the tel pole and the splitter your SNR will reduce and it will cause frequent disconnections in your broadband..
Incase your telephone network is not similar to this, try changing to this structure and see!!

the case is same with my modem.....the adsl light ll glow a few times and then off ......again it ll glow a few times then cut off...........i ve connected th modem as sated ....ie.....main line ===> splitter ====>modem.........its been 2 yrs i m usin ths modem........and its superb........i connect ma pc n with the wifi i can use net in ma lap also.........can it be serviced???.........if not whr can i buy th very same type modem.....??

my good advice never purchase modem from bsnl u should always prefer the modem
on rental basis with the bsnl ie Rs 60/- monthly, if it so they will replace the modem
