Default Help required: Few queries about BSNL broadband

I have few queries. Can someone please help?
    1. How long does it take to get the broadband connection?
    2. Can you access your company VPN using BSNL broadband?
    3. Where can I find information about the types of modems, what is type I, II, III and IV? I have never heard of these typs.

    Thanks in advance.

Any idea how long would it take in Dombivali? 4-5 months sounds a bit too much.

    Hi,
I have going to take a new connection HOME 500C+ plan. I have some queries to be answered. Thanks in advance

    1. If I want to switch from current plan to some another plan before 3 months, is this possible? Any money loss, hidden costs involved?

    2. Initially if I take modem TYPE-I on rent and later I want to use TYPE-IV, would it be possible? If yes, will I loose some money, as security deposit etc.?

    3. I believe telephone rental is included in my plan HOME 500C+, what will be the call charges? Which will be my calling plan?

    4. If bsnl provide me an phone set instrument, how much they will be charging? Do I have an option not to take their phone set to avoid these charges? I already have one phone instrument.

    5. Initially BSNL has asked to deposit Rs.500 with form submission. Other charges will be in first bill. I am expecting following charges, please correct me if I am wrong.

    ONE TIME CHARGES
Broadband one month advance rental 600 [Refundable]
    Modem security deposit 500 [Refundable]
    Installation charges 250 [Non-Refundable]
    Registration fee 100 [Non-Refundable]
    Advance adjustment -500

    MONTHLY CHARGES
    Broadband rental 600
    Modem rental type-I 60
    Outgoing calls(no calls) 0
    -----------------------
    Total 1610
    Taxes extra
    -----------------------

for your first question, i can say nobody can tell on when can you get the connection as many got it really quickly and some did not even get it even after months of booking.

many of your queries can be answered on above site & as a suggestion please go to the bsnl's site first if you have any queries as it is always better to have information from official source.contact your local bsnl exchange people & ask them too.bsnl is a govt organization & this is India.in the end it all depends on the local exchange people.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

@wecaz... first of all dont ask too many questions at one post.. ask one by one or two at a time.. if somebody looks at 6-7 questions at a time.. they will get bugged and wont feel like answering...anyways-normally telephones come free with the connection, yes you can change your modem.. im not sure of the detail procedure as such...no you cannot switch before 3 months...!!

@superprash2003: Yes, u r correct, I shud post less Qns. Actually I am desperate to get a connection asap, so was acting greedy
Thanks frnd, for ur replies. Today I got almost all my answers from a senior bsnl official. But he said that I don't need to wait for 3 months to switch to any new plan.

@whitestar_999: yes I have visited the website thoroughly before posting. but u know that their website is normally not updated. Also my local bsnl exchange people are dumb. Today few answers I got from the official are far different what is mentioned in the website. So it always better to confirm. I believe that ppl here are more updated than bsnl's website....lol...
