can you post a screen shot of the WAN configuration page.. when you click on ppoe mode.. in the username and password, is your username and password mentioned??
we are very close to solving it.. just tell me abt your WAN config

what i have done is changed some settings in network properties ..and enable ICS to LOCAL AREA CONNECTION 4..but other computers can not connect to it..

so local area connection is a LAN card on your computer which is connected to your hub right??? and since you have enabled ICS.. just go to the client machine.. and right click on LOCAL AREA CONNECTION.. and clik on properties.. click on tcp/ip properties.. and click automatically asisgn ip
ok its working now on LAN Computers also..
but i am experiencing slow speed on LAN Computers that the Main one which have ICS enabled.
One more thing i would like to know?
kya ye broadband connection har time hi online rahega? kyunki main kuch b dial nhi kar raha? agar main chahun ki main khud connection dial karu to mujhe kya karna hoga? settings kya change karni padengi?
aur LAN computers me itni speed kyu nhi aa rahi ?
Speed boost karne ke liye kya karu?
ok...i hope you dont mind if i answer in english.. cause my hindi aint that good...
As long as the modem is switched on.. you have internet.. so when you dont want internet. just switch off the modem.. thats it..you can also set it up to dial...but its not quite necessary since you can disconnect from internet by just switching it off..
slow speeds could be because you have a lot of computers on your LAN.. and maybe some computers are updating their antivirus or windows updates it goin on etc etc...
also depends on your plan.. which plan are you in?
i ma using business plan 3000...
may be lan computers using the resource for updation etc.
anyways u both guys helped me out finally.
thnx very much
One more thng i would like to know :-
as the broadband is just launched in our area..
would like to from u : what are membership schemes?? and how can i start them for my customers..and what more can i do to attract more customers??
I am using 10 computers here.
with 30 Rs. per hour
there are many softwares which can be used to manage a cyber cafe.. which include creating a new user and recharging their account whenever they pay...im not sure of the softwares..but you sure can check it out through google.. also try to get a printer.. and share it over the network.. and you can charge for printing...also install games like counter strike, need for speed etc.. on all computers .. so customers who like gaming can also come...you can charge seperate or same price for that...
you need to be good in managing all the systems in your cyber cafe.. make sure you have firewall turned on...update antivirus regularly.. give limited access to the client pcs.. dont give them an administrator account.. dont allow them to install any software etc..
