in your computer LAN TCP/IP properties check that IP address is something like 192.168.1.x where x is between 2-254.default gateway is 192.168.1.1 & DNS server name is set to automatic.

simply configure ur lan adapter(local area connection) and manually configure the IP address to 192.168.1.2
    subnet mask to:- 255.255.255.0
    default gateway to :- 192.168.1.2

this wil open ur router config page

The default gateway is what your computer connects to when it sends data to the internet, and the default gateway is usually your routers internal ip address. I say usually, because sometimes a dsl/cable modem does not act as a router. There is an important distiction here, that is pretty hard to catch. Most dsl/cable modems do routing. If the dsl/cable modem can route traffic, I call it a router. It really is a router, because it provides routing functionality. Not all modems provide routing. Even if you have a router, the routing can be disabled. So though it is a router it can act as a simple modem.
that is why it is compulsory to set default gateway same as your modem/router's internal IP address & if your modem/router's internal IP address is 192.168.1.1
