Thanks for your responses. Now everything is proper. But still I'm unable to access wi-fi. I followed the manual step-by-step. And each step is done properly.

Let me know this alone. Should I connect the ethernet cable from UT-300R2U to the Internet port of Netgear or to one of the LAN ports?
The description of what I have done is as follows:

    1) Modem is set under bridge mode..I'm sure this connection is proper since I created a new connection to dial and I'm able to dial properly with my username and password

2)All settings for the Netgear are done according to the manual. The mistake I did was I used http://192.168.1.1/basicsetting.htm to access the router page. Plsssss dont do this. Instead use http://www.routerlogin.net/basicsetting.htm to change your router settings. Any changes made to the LAN IP setup will only then be properly reflected.

Despite doing all things properly I'm unable to access Wi-Fi....Please do help me...What could be the other things which I need to look into?
    Try doing this .....
    Go to the configuration page....
In the left panel hunt for Maintenance then go to Router Status.
Here check if ur getting any ipaddress under the Internet Port.
I mean it should be something other than 0.0.0.0.
IF its something other than that then u got a successful internet connection to the wireless router.

No the only thing u need to change is the MTU size.
Go to Advanced tab and then go for WAN Setup in that change the MTU to say 1400.
I hope 1400 should work fine as it is working fine for me.
Then i guess it should be done ...reboot the netgear and then try using the wi-fi.

MTU should be 1492 or 1500. Try the first value (1492) and if this does not work try the next (1500).

    Hi just4kix,
Well actually i suggested that value of 1400 cos it worked for me and it was suggested to me by the technical support of the Netgear Team.
I can understand that using 1492 is logical since PPPoE takes 8 bytes but it didnt work for me i dont know why.
Earlier in my case it was 1500 and there were a lot of problems if u recollect we had a very long discussion thread on this. Then i changed it to 1492 and then finally to 1400 as suggested by that netgear personal.

Well lets see even i will try gradually reducing the no.

If Netgear people said that then it is OK. Reducing the packet size (MTU) works many times. Care should be taken that it does not exceed 1492 (or 1500).
