At orkut many members have relative working in BSNL and they have claimed that from 1st April 2008(not april fool, I suppose) BSNL is going to upgrade all users except unlimited guys to 8MBps and ul900 to 2MBps. May be correct. But one thing certain. They are are going to introduce iptv. For that good speed is essential.

Every thing seems to be uncertain .......i dont find any reason that they would do so ....cos for them right now to cope up with their competitors is the key to expand and they are going to require huge amout of money for it.
I guess BSNL is planning to collect revenues earlier and then they would go in for giving unlimited packages just what it is there in US and other countries.....say AT&T giving such plans ........
Hence wait and watch ....cos its going to change.

Just imagine u will get a 54 MBPS line that too wi-fi from BSNL in every location where u can get a BSNL landline.

54mbps internet connections are not even there in USA(max is 22-27mbps for home users).54mbps is the speed of wifi network not the internet speed.this speed is good for gaming on the local network though.

yeh hai INDIA meri jaan!unless broadband is an issue in next general election i don't see much improvement.ofcourse they will increase the speeds for all plan just that in our country it took years.afterall 2mbps is already present for more than 1 year now.maybe in this year they increase to 8mbps.as for connectivity & speeds like developed countries forget about it for a few years at least.

OMG, and that was the only reason why i changed my plan from unlimited to 500 plan in bsnl and i regret it now if they indeed change the speed of unlimited plan to 2 kbps to 2 mbps, i am very disappointed.
