    Default HELP on MODEM selection

    hey guyz..
    the best solution to go wireless on type1 modem?
    i want to apply for bsnl's broadband connection but at my location there's only modem type1 available. since i will be also using wireless for my laptop,shud i go for rental now n then purchase wireless modem from market or shud i buy frm bsnl n attach wireless router to it??

    my suggestion is that try bsnl modem on rent for 1st month.that way you can familarise yourself with all the settings & also bsnl provides support for only modems taken from them.bsnl also provides good type I modem(e.g.siemens 2110 for just rs.1200).if you like the modem then you can also buy just a wireless router & use it with your bsnl mode.if you don't like the idea buy a wifi modem from market but make sure to real all the guides available here to know how to configure because bsnl won't help in case of market buy modems.

    seems i shud go for outright purchase n for wireless router latter..
    but isnt there hazardous configurations for router connection as well? or its only for the modem?

    if you search here you will find many guides about connecting wireless router to a bsnl modem.if you buy some known wireless router chances are that you will get all the required information on net/forums.
