Thread: Help plz: PCMCIA Wifi cards that will work with MT841

Anyone knows of any PCMCIA wifi cards other than the one supplied by bsnl that works with smartax mt841 modem? thx

If u hav bough this modem from BSNL ask them to give a PCMCIA WIFI CARD which is an Accessory of Huawei MT841. No other cards will work. Only the card from Huawei will work. Costs arround 1000 Rs.

Thanks for the info. Can anyone do me a favor by arranging one for me? A used one or one you can buy from your nearest BSNL office? I will pay in advance. The BSNL people here are not that helpful.

Does an updated mt841 firmware recognize some other cards as well? And any chance of getting Windows driver for this Huwai PCMCIA card so that it can be used with PCMCIA slot of a notebook as well?

I purchase netgear Wg511 pcmcia card to use with MT841,it does'nt work with it no Wlan led glow,when i visited BSNL office here the staff showed me a demo piece of MT841 PCMCIA card frm Huawei which cost 500+tax.I just want to know why this netgear wg511 Type 2 card not workes with MT841....?

I think built in software driver in mt841 supports only WCBG03H model PCMCIA cards from huawei.

Did you buy that card from bsnl? can you arrange one for me too?

Yes i got it from bsnl,they ask my phone bill and then send demand note request for head office and the demand note for Rs 500 for HuAwei PCMCIA is to be payed in customer office ,then only they gave that card .thats worked perfect with MT841 and now i can connect wirelessly.But they told me only last piece available
