Default No ethernet port - Can I still set up a wireless n/w?

    Hi,
I have a MT882 ADSL modem which I use to connect to the net via the USB interface. I bought a netgear wireless router to enable a wireless n/w at home. I now see that I need to have the wireless router connected to the PC via the ethernet port. Problem is that I do not have a ethernet port in my pc which is 6 yrs old. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

    Thanks,
    Naren

You need to connect MT882 to Netgear router via ethernet (LAN port of MT882 to Internet port of Netgear) - I presume that you have already done so.

I believe that you problem is that you cannot connect PC to Netgear router via ethernet because your PC does not have an ethernet card. The answer is quite simple. Buy a gigabit LAN card from the market or eBay. They are quite cheap. Check with any PC assembler/supplier and he should be able to give you a decent card for Rs. 600~Rs.1000. The investment will not be useless.

As whitestar_999 suggest read the guide and follow the principle. I have a guide for Netgear WGR614 also: Setup of UT-300R2 with Netgear WGR614v7

Hey also if u go for a bargaining offer u can get it to a lesser price at around say 250 to 300 rs ...
Do insist on bargainng ....as the markets are dropping the rates have gone down ...but these vendors will not let u know that ......Bargaining is possible.
