Question Who will Help Me? (For Premium Rapidshare Downloading Speed)

    Hi All,

I have a BSNL Home UL 900 Plan and also have a Premium Rapidshare Account. My Download Speed around 25 Kbps to 35 Kbps.

But My Friend also same Plan and Same Exchange, he get around 250 Kbps to 300 Kbps download Speed.

I have a D-Link ADSL 2+ Router (GLB-502T). I have attempted all the Step which I Found like some optimizer used, changing my TCP/IP setting with DSN, Install Antivirus, Formatting PC etc. etc.

My Current TCP/IP Setting as follows:

    IP Address : 192.168.1.29
    Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    Preferred DNS Server : 208.67.222.222
    Alternate DNS Server : 208.67.220.220

My Router is now setting with PPPoE Mod.

I have P4 Latest PC with XP Prof. Operating System

I have many times called BSNL Office to solve the Problem but they not response.

If anybody Know what is the Actual Problem and How it will solve then Please Give me Details Step in Here.

    Thanks in Advance………………………

UL 900/UL 900+ gives connection at 256 kilo bits per second (kbps). So you will get a maximum download speed of 32 kilo bytes per second (KB/s). Momentarily you may get additional bursts upto 35 KB/s as you mentioned but those will not sustain.

Your friends is also getting the same speed. As joy mentioned above there s a confusion between kb/s and KB/s.

^ I use both IE and Firefox.Never saw download speed is displayed in kb/s.
How can you say that his friend is getting confused between kb/s and kB/s?

I made an error in stating that his friend is confused - it is Joy who has misunderstood.

When his friend is saying he is getting 250~300 download speed under UL 900+ plan, he is actually meaning kb/s (or kbps) and not KB/s.

You are right - any and every browser always displays the download speed in KB/s.
