I too get such issues before. The only solution i found out was to switch on the modem while the pc is booting and then start working and it worked fine for me and soon that issue itself was automatically resolved, but still it is not resolved for you contact bsnl soon.

it could be due to poor telephone line..or your telephone wiring..make sure that the telephone line from the pole comes directly to the splitter and all your telephones are connected after the splitter.. this makes your telephone line coming to the modem a lot better

Buddy.. what superprash mentioned is 100% true...
> Dont connect anything in the main line except ur adsl line.
> Check whethr u have connected in appropriate line.. i.e... ADSL & telephone line...

It should be like this...

Main Line Box --> Adsl Box --> Net & Ph(two lines)

Normally in the mail line we would be having two out's.. we should use only one out in that..

Hope im not confusing...

One more info.. if ur telephone line is got LOOPING.. then this problem will come.. anyhow i dont know wat is looping...

Prashant, I also had the same problem. and i called up the broadband people they came here and tried their modem out (a SIEMENS one). it worked fine. then they said my modem (MT882) is faulty. then i got another modem(MT882) connected with the line again same problem. now i have connected the modem with the line directly it is working fine now that too with the new modem. now i tried to repair my old modem... opened it, found some CAPACITORS r swollen. tried changing them.... but didnt do any good.... Now im using my net with the NEW modem without a splitter
