Default BSNL Broadband for Teleblend VOIP - Please help

    Friends,

Need your help on this. My problem goes like this.

    Previous setup:

    Broadband provider: Sify
VOIP provider: Teleblend ( Migrated to this after the sunrocket closure)
    VOIP adapter: Linksys SPA-2102

I was using this service for almost 1 year. After initial setup hiccups, the service was working absolutely fine. The internet cable directly goes from the hub to the linksys adapter Internet slot. From there a line goes to phone and other ethernet line goes to my PC. I configured my linksys adapter at http://192.168.0.1. I can give you more details on the configuraiton if you need.

I had two problems with sify. One, somehow I am not successful in establishing the PPPOE, and I had to login in the PC everytime I use my VOIP phone. Initially, it was a problem but slowly my parents got used to that. Two, the local cable franchise is providing very bad service. The service regularly gets interrupted because of low quality cables and hubs.

Just a week ago, my parents have taken a new BSNL broadband connection. They are able to access internet on my PC.

    Present setup:

    Broadband provider: BSNL
VOIP provider: Teleblend ( Migrated to this after the sunrocket closure)
    VOIP adapter: Linksys SPA-2102
    Modem: UT-300R2U.

I have connected the ethernet cable from the modem to the internet slot of my linksys adapter. From there I connected my PC. I haven't modifed any settings of the linksys adapter. As expected, now both the internet and my voip phone doesn't work.

I tried changing the ip address etc on the linksys side, but it is not working. I really need you guys help on this. I am sure someone who has the same configuration as mine would have migrated to BSNL. Please pass on the settings to me.

I also checked in this forum, the post explaining setting multiple computers by just4kix. Thanks for the post just4kix. But somehow, when I type http://192.168.1.1 I am getting a different screen than the one given in the post. I tried to do some settings change but nothing worked. Also, please let me know what changes I need to do from the linksys side to get my internet connected through the linksys adapter.

Please help me in configuring my voip. I am ready to pass on any more information you need. Actually, I sit in NY and trying to setup broadband at my home in hyderabad. I am using remote software to access my PC at home. Taking help from my parents to set the connections at home.

    Thanks in advance,
    Sree

I have a Linksys PAP2T adapter and i hv subscribed to VIATALK.
Setting it up has been a piece of cake for me. I hope you have set your modem on PPPOE mode and checked the router settings. First of all make sure the internet is workin on your pc and than connect the ethernet cable directly from the router to the voip adapter. Make sure the router is connected to only "one" device at a time. Either ur computer or the voip adapter. And bsnl aint blockin any ports for voip communication(this is a widespread rumour). I hope this might help

yes make sure you are using ppoe mode.. that means internet should work as soon as you switch on your modem.. is your current setup such that you have to dial a connection on the computer for internet?

Thanks. I will try to setup internet in PPPOE mode and test if internet is working on my PC directly without logging in. Then I will try to plug in the adapter. Do I still need to make any change of settings for my voip adapter?

Wow...it's working now. Thanks for all the help guys. Initially I was working on changing the voip adapter settings. That's not required at all. The key here is just to make sure that PPPOE setting are working fine.

Thanks again guys. In case anyone is having a similar problem, I will be more than happy to assist you based on my experience.

    Question Problem with VOIP

    Hi,
I am having problems with the VOIP.
I have a VOIP subscription from ViaTalk and my internet provider is BSNL.
I have a cable connecting the BSNL modem to the Viatalk phone adapter and a phone cable from the Viatalk adapter to the telephone.

    1. Is the BSNL modem different from a 'router' or do I have to purshase any other hardware?
    2. How do I set the modem in PPPOE mode?

    Thanks.

    Thumbs up

    OK, it is working now.
The ViaTalk adapter had 2 sockets for the telephone line. Only one will work and I connected the telephone line to the non-working socket.
    Thanks anyway.

then it either is a voip service problem.. or it could be that your voip adapter aint getting an ip address. There is a way to find out if the adapter is getting an ip address via DHCP by dialing some number.. it varies from adapter to adapter.. you might want to do a google search on that

    Default reset the VOIP box

    Hi,

The SPA ned to be reset, the way to do is as follows:
    1) pick up handset, ensure power is on for SPA box.
    2) Dial ****73738#
    3) All the lights on the SPA box will go off
    4) Turnoff the BB Router/Modem and the SPA box
    5) Power them back, first the BB Router/Modem, then the SPA box

    Try again, that should help.

    Good Luck

Yes that is correct.. I can connect through the internet (connected via the gizmo) and i dont have to dail in any information

Hi Prash.. Want to make sure i understand right when you say "you are not using a dialer to connect to the internet right?" I am not sure what a dialer means.. I start of the modem (and the gizmo) and am able to access the net. I have looked up the PPPoE setting based on the suggestions within the post.
